Adverse conditions
A couple things can make a big difference to both staff and patrons when operating in unpleasant conditions.
Rain
If a valet service site gets rained on, especially at a big sports game or festival, it can be quite unpleasant. Keep a couple towels on hand to dry off seats, and staff should make sure to bring waterproof shoes, hat, and raincoat if rain is in the forecast. Valet kits should include gloves to keep staff warm.
Heat
In very hot weather, it's helpful to bring an extra tent for patrons to keep cool beneath, while queuing to drop off or pick up bikes. Consider providing staff with a 5 gallon water jug if there’s no water source immediately adjacent to the valet site. Remind staff to dress for the weather, wear wide-brimmed hats, use sunscreen, and take frequent shade breaks.
